Thumbs up 1st accomplishment of the year.

Busted out a 19 minute 5k last night, first sub 20 I've done since I started getting shin splints last year. I want to bust out a sub 16 again before the end of the summer.

In an event or solo run?

May be difficult for you to remember, but had you changed shoes before your shin splints started? I ran cross country and track all through junior high and high school. I never got rid of my shin splints until senior year when I went to a specialty running store and they put me on a treadmill, and found out what kind of shoes I had to run in. They were gone in less than 2 weeks(running every single day) and I was better and faster than ever.

If you want to improve your running Spencer, I highly suggest you check out a running store with a treadmill/camera setup.

I sat on the couch playing words-with-friends and thought: "Slider's probably gonna get hit by a car again. My knee hurts like fuck today. Where's my beer?"

That's burning, nice work.

Last spring we had to run a sub 6 mile to get our jersey. I cut it in 5:41 but I couldn't imagine doing that 3 times at the same pace.

Are those fairly inexpensive? I was basically limited to one pair of Mizuno's which usually cost me about $120. Best shoes I've ever run in but I don't run anymore.

No - www.runningwarehouse.com - $79.95 - use coupon CP20 for a 15% discount and shipping is free, so they are $67.96.

They're good shoes but a little too stiff for me. I need find a good balance between a neutral and stability
