Roadies - carbon frame questions

Someone school me on carbon frames.

I have had the itch for a new ride for a while now, and I came across a Masi 3VC carbon frameset.

I have a DuraAce drivetrain (55/42 crankset ) and brakes I could swap on from another bike and a set of Saturn tubular wheels. All I would really need is bars, brifters and cables and I could have a new ride for half the price.

But what do I need to know about carbon frames?

Is rider weight really an issue? I hover around 195-205 most of the year.

A quick Google tells me that a '08 Masi 3VC w/ DuraAce MSRP'd for $4245.
This is an '07 frameset for 1/8 that price. I have the drivetrain parts collecting dust... just need to be swapped on. I can't imagine I'd pay out the ass for bars/controls...
In my mind, there's no way in hell I could buy a comparable bike cheaper.

I just want someone to tell me I'm not going to break the bitch

Carbon is some strong stuff but if crashed you might have a problem. Just keep it upright and it should be good to go for a while.

msrp is one thing, personally i don't care for masis design of their frames.Check craigslist for deals.you can snag complete bikes at reasonable prices
