HGH, medical questions

I know HGH can be prescibed as hormone therapy, but how would one go about getting it to treat psoriasis?

I've been doing some research online, and noticed there is a lot of talk about HGH and it's effects of plaque based psoriasis.

I started to suffer for the symptoms of psoriasis around age 25, which i hear is also about the time the body starts to decrease HGH production. The psoriasis has steadily gotten worse over the years. I've used a ton of lotions, sprays, etc. but they just counter the dryness, none actually long term help.

I tried Enbrel for a while, and noticed a difference, but the side effects are quite scary, it's a biological, and that just freaks me out.

I've also heard about HGH blockers being used to treat psoriais, but that sounds like two completely different theories at work.

So Dave, and maybe some others, ever heard of any solid studies on HGH and Psoriasis treatment?

An article I found on it:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6131648

From what I read HGH has shown improvements in patients with psoriasis. I would recommend chatting with your doc, express interest in going this route. They should be able to provide any studies or facts about it as well.

It might be worth a shot, might help you in several ways than just one.

yeah, i read part of that study as well. Those 26 patients were women.

And they used Somatostatin, an HGH Inhibitor. But only 5 patients showed a decrease in HGH levels.

There are some other studies out there where prescibing HGH has also shown benefits, rather than inhibitors.

not my balls, but maybe my pituitary?

I'm wondering if that's why i'm 6'4 with a head the size of Tito Ortiz!

Could it possibly be an HGH abundance, causing the psoriasis, or the opposite?

My buddy was born with that shit, I would estimate 50% of his body is covered. Poor guy has tried everything on the market, nothing seems to have lasting effects. Hopefully HGH works, that would great for you and him both.

Amazing, another DFWstanger commenting about gear he knows nothing about.

Have you talked to a dermatologist about GH? Obviously if there are studies out there then they should know a bit about it.

I'm thinking Growth Hormone would be very hard to get just based on psoriasis alone.
What you're going to have to do in order to obtain this is play your cards.
How old are you? Where does your test levels sit at? Overall mood etc...
Do you have insurance??

I personally haven't heard anything in the way of treatment for this, but surely that doesn't mean it's not out there.

I know of a company that puts effort into helping those looking for GH treatment. You could call them and talk to them about the treatment...Ask away with all your questions. let me know if you're interested.

my real question wasn't about getting on GH, it was asking those possibly in the medical field if they've heard anything. I've read conflicting research, some saying that taking GH has helped, while I've read studies saying the GH inhibitors have helped.

I haven't talked to a derm yet. I need to go back and see mine. But versus the side effects of the biologicals I was on at one point, GH is childs play

I'm interested in this as well. I've had that shit on my elbows and knees for a while now, and nothing works. I do notice quite a few taller/bigger dudes with it as well around the gym. I'm only 5-8, 195 fwiw...all the fuck out of proportion w/ a 7-5/8 hat size!

I've got it on my elbows, knees, and legs, sometimes i get it on my torso as well, but that comes and goes.

I've tried Enbrel, and it seemed to work, but my insurance fucked up, and I haven't been back to the derm to get back on it. But as soon as I was off of it, it came back just as bad.
