Congrats! That's a lot of weight to drop in that time frame for sure. What is your goal?

Damn good work bro! What did you do to achieve this?

Let me know when you are feeling good enough for training.

honestly.. 100% will power.. every time i started before i would lose 10lbs and then go back to doing what i was doing..

i work on the concept that can not eat clean 100% of the time. but the days i CAN controll my diet im SUPER strick and super clean.. 1200-1600 calories a day.. an hour on the treadmill every day that i lift.. and when i have a day that i eat to much.. i make up for it the other days..

Steve.. im recouping my knee.. but i would like to come out your way and at least start getting down the basics of grappling.. i figure we can work a way to work around my injury..

weather seems good and pretty much after 2:30 on sunday in 100% free.. so let me know what works for you.

there is an upside and a downside.. when you lose 40lbs and are still fat it does bring a level of irritation that i let myself get that big.. but i realise that i CAN do it..

Steve my secret has been recognising when im about to screw up.. and stop myself.. also, choose the lesser of 2 evils. if you go out to eat.. get grilled fish/chicken and veggies.. if you know you really really want a burger.. then reduce the rest of the calories you take in that day and increase your cardio.

if my fat ass can do it.. anyone can...

PM what your schedule is like for sundays.

The many discussions we've had about what you were "planning on doing" were well worth it now that you're actually doing it. Congrats Dave, I'll meet you at 230.

I completely understand. What gets me is the withdrawls from sugar and especially caffiene. I hate going through the withdrawl stage. Screws my my sleep, concentration level, being irritable. Ugh. Even thinking about doing it again makes me dread it.

That's me too. It's always "tomorrow". It's a crazy cycle. I feel like crap, bums me out and makes me not want to do anything which only makes it worse. What drives me is I'm sick of all the fuckin fat comments and being healthy for my wife and little girl.

yup.. that is where the willpower comes in.. you know its going to suck.. but every time you cave in you set yourself back.. fight through it and then you get used to it.. Eating shitty is like any addiction. you have to watch yourself and be aware of it and realise when you are going to fuck up.

They may suck, but the fat comments won't be enough to get you there Steve. I was fat up through my freshman year in college, and got plenty of ridicule over the years. It wasn't until I was truly tired of my body and lack of fitness, that I actually got off my ass and started making progress. I didn't have a wife and baby at the time, or I most assuredly wouldn't have got to it sooner.

I went from 211lbs on Monday to 228lbs today.
I have been busting my ass for 3 hrs in the gym each day and eating everything in site!
Then again, I lost 22lbs in a week from being sick with pneumonia.

Congrats WL.
I know you have been saying you were going to do this for a while now.
I am glad you are sticking with it.
Keep up with what you are doing and keep us posted.

Congrats Dave, that's awesome!

Also, don't let the knee keep you from training, you can still do some grappling and not use the knee.

That's awesome man! I'm down from 225 to 200. I can't seem to break 200 and all I have cut out is cokes and eating a little better. I'm now at a plateau, but have started doing some running. I'm trying to get down to 175.

Congrats! It's nice to finally break through some barriers. I was around 220 for a couple years and after mtn biking, got it down to 200. Tried a while to get through that barrier. It finally took dropping cokes and eating right to break through. There's days where I crave certain things, but my willpower is pretty decent these days. Like after this damn contest is over, first thing I'm gonna do is go have some cheesecake!
