shin splint braces?

Any of you ever used them? I've never really heard of them, wondering if they help relieve the pain any? My shin splints have become a semi-perm. part of my body

Have you had this checked? If not, are you sure it's not CCS? You can rehab true shin splints fairly easily.

Not CCS, just had a stress fracture in Iraq that wasn't given the proper rest it needed. So my right leg gets irritated easy and is slow to heal.

I used to get them all the time, a good pair of shoes, and some rest is all you need.

I will knock the dust off that.....

I got some Dr Scholl's inserts yesterday that are supposed to help with that type of problem, among other foot problems, and they really helped. I spend a lot of time on my feet at work and also do a lot of physical activity and some days it is very hard to walk because my shins are so sensitive. I put these inserts in after standing 8 hours and work, and they really did help, even after more hours on my feet. Shoe inserts aren't the cure, but they sure can help a lot, maybe it's worth looking into...

I picked up a pair for my running today...they seemed to help for the little jog I did inbetween classes. About the same as taping your shins, just less of a hassle.
