To be "healthy" I'd say anywhere from 10-15%, and for a beach body I'd recommend 8-10%.

You ladies get off a little easier than that, as body fat plays a significant roll in hormone producetion and your cycle. Besides, vascular chicks are a bit of a turn off.

It should also be noted tha the smaller you are, the leaner a certain percentage is. For example 10 percent is going to look a bit leaner on a 100lb person as it would on a 200lb person. 10 lbs of ft as opposed to 20lbs of fat, primarily held right nect to the skin.

Cool. I used to be 17%... now I'm more like 25% (atleast) plus. I'm not exactly certain since I haven't had a caliper test in quite a few years. Regardless, I've got my work cut out for me!

Not to mention that the calipers can be grossly innacurate.

The best would be a dunk tank, but the higher end electrical impedence scales can be pretty accurate. In any case, it's a measurement that should be used to calculate progress, not necessarily your exact percentage. Who cares what the number is as long as you look and feel good.

Funny, a lot of women feel the same way about men.

They had some kind of electronic hand held device up here today. You griped it with both hands and somehow it calculated it

What are you guys agreeing on? The part that men have it easier than woman or the being too vascular part?

It measures the resistance (impedence) of the electrical flow to calculate composition. Water, fat, and muscle all have different conductive properties.

Yup.
A lot of women DO NOT like vascular men(no matter how big and bad you may think you look).
I personally want to be in the middle of vascular/swole.

I've never seen an impedence scale that was that accurate. they usually seem to read at least 2-3% to low for me. My scale at home reads 7.4% when im actually 10% at the lowest.

The scales aren't as good as a final measurement as an indicator of change.... My scale reads around 13% on me and it will fluctuate a point or two as my % changes. They also say to check it at the same time each day as it will fluctuate throughout the day.

The BMI is bullshit IMO. For those that have met me know what size I am but according to my BMI I am obese? Screw that noise.
