Met another Goal - Beginning new Goals.

Well i reached my first goal, of hitting 150 and last night i hit another. I was finally able to put up 205 with no assistance for 1 and 185 for 2.8(i couldnt lock out on last one"3rd"). I would like to be benching a little more but i dont think 55lbs over my body weight is that bad.

Im setting two new goals for myself.

One being able to bench atleast 225 (2 plates) by the end of this month.
Second being a solid 160 (+10lbs) by the end of October.

I put on 10-15 pounds from 137 in 3-4 months, so i think adding another 10 in 3 months would be just as realistic.

Why are you maxing out so much?
Are you wanting to grow or be able to brag to all your friends about how much you can bench?

I dont do it everytime i go to the gym. I do it every now and again and look at it as progress.

Thanks Raven.

To me, progress should be judged in # of reps or an increase in weight pushed/pulled.

BTW: I haven't maxed out in like 6yrs now.
I did throw up 315lbs on incline benchpress yesterday for a set of 4(was going for 6, but I'm a chump).
Seems like you're on a good track though so far.
Just like I said...don't quit...like everyone else does.

This is all new to me so its like a kid and a new bike. I see myself going from 135 x4 to 135x15 and 205 max in just a few months, i know im doing something right.

The second 15lbs will be way harder to gain. Unless you have some TRN-Easy of course.

Its been almost two weeks since my original numbers. (Not that any of you care but its a way for me to keep track ).

Well, I weighed in at 158.5 today. 1.5 pounds off from my goal originally set in October. Im retaining a lot of water, so im not counting this a success yet as i lose 4-5 lbs everytime i get my ass on the scale.

When i originally posted this i was barely able to get 185 3 times now i can push 185 up 6 times unassisted and 205 for 2.


I will say this, diet and busting ass in the gym will give you the results.
Out of all the times i failed in the past to "put on weight" it was cause i was either lacking one of the two.

That is all....

For the person asking how my shoulder is, its better. I think i may have twisted it wrong or something causing pain for a day or so.

Oh btw. I just weighed in on an empty stomache and tipped the scale over to 160.0, even!!! I literally screamed out loud and the guy behind me waiting to get on the scale looked at me weird. haha.

This has been my schedule for about 2 months, of course with a few slips here and there.


6am Protein Shake (ride to work) 640 cal along with Fish oil pills.

7am Egg Burrito with about 4-5 eggs id say and other veggies. (calories i dont know)

9am Ill either have a packet of oatmeal or yogurt which is 200 calories.

10:30 ill have either another protein bar or another packets of oatmeal/yogurt

12pm - Lunch. It depends what they serve here. Sometimes chicken breasts, Lasuana(sp?) its fairly healthy.

2-3pm either yogurt protein bar or oatmeal.

5pm - NO Xplode then shortly after i start taking SIZEON(during work out)

8pm(or whenever i get out of gym. I make a chicken sandwich with about .5lbs of chicken. Sometimes even a side of rice if i feel like cooking more.
8:30 Protein shake with Gluatimin(sp?) along with fish oil.

9-930pm as usual, ill either have oatmeal or protein bar before i go to bed.

Then hopefully, if all goes well im in bed by 10 to do it all over again.

I depend on oatmeal, yogurt packs, and protein bars as i dont like cooking for myself.

Avg day i take 3200-3500 Calories. On a day less busy and more time for me to stuff my face, im around 4000.

Im so set on this routine and eating, that if i dont eat for an extended period of time i get irritated, same goes for working out. Shoot, i find myself up in the early am snacking on stuff in the fridge.

Another update by Mike.

For the past week or two weeks ive cut back on a lot of eating just cuase i was sick of eating 24/7. Starting monday im going to get back on and stuff myself like crazy. (still hitting gym like crazy though)

With that being said, i have been consistently at 160-163lbs for the last week and a half. On the 28th last Monday of July, i benched 225x3 and 205x5 1/2.

I also squated 305x1(My legs are extremely week).

My goal for the longest time was being able to put up 2 plates on bench and now that i have reached that im not going to worry about how much weight i can move.

At 160 on an empty stomache im hoping i can get to 175 by then end of the year. I know its going to be difficult for the next 10lbs as i have been 160 for nearly weeks and have made no weight gains.

I dont know, 5'9" 5'10" somewhere around there? I know its not an accurate way of measuring but Don said he was 10-12% last time he mentioned it and i have no where near the BF he has.

Hey, this is what Don said. lol Regardless, i will probably check to see where i am BF wise within the week. I honestly dont think its going to be double digit but we will see.

Skin fold is one of the least accurate ways to masure bodyfat, and varies quite a bit from person to person.

I checked on a google test and found this Home Body Fat test. So it must be accurate, right?

Your Results

You have 8% body fat.

You have 12.8 Pounds of fat and 147.2 Pounds of lean (muscle, bone, body water).
