Do you eat before or after working out?

I usually eat an hour or so before I work out...didnt happen today. Vanilla ice cream protein shake + cheetos + turkey sandwich = stomach ache.

oh and that sweaty ass guy in my other post was there again today sweating all over the stationary bikes...its disgusting. I think he seriously has a psychological disorder. Hes in his 60's and the skinniest old guy I have ever seen. Hes starting to look like a holocaust victim.

Same here. 1/2 of a Detour oatmeal bar an hour before and dinner and a shake when I get home.

I try to eat a tad over an hour prior to going in. As soon as I am home, I do a whey protein shake and eat either some yogurt, or some whole grain wheat bread, potato, etc. to get a bit of insulin spike. I try to chase with dinner 1ish hour after that.

Oatmeal is by far the best pre workout meal a person can eat. Slow burning carbs is the key. I typically eat a cup before my workout, then "Size On" immediately after the workout, and then another meal 30-45 min later.

I have 24 grams of protein 15 minutes prior and a shake with 1 banana, 8oz's of strawberries, 10 oz's of 2% milk and 50 grams of whey protein right after my workout.

a good post on the way home is a med size apple and a 20 oz gatorade! then a protien shake when ya get home

I usually try to eat several hours before, but something high in complex carbs as well as protein for breakfast/lunch.
Then after the workout I eat a good amount of protein and veggies and all that jazz.
I've been eating like a pig now that I'm back to the gym 3 times a week.

I'll though I'm not huge or anything...and now I can't workout for shit cause I apparently have a large inguinal hernia in my lower abdomen from moving 4 tons of equipment at work in january... F!%^
Its uncomfortable but pisses me off mainly because I can't do some of the exersizes I wan't to do till I get surgery.

I can't eat much before I workout, my stomach doesn't agree with that much. I usually eat afterwards
