Just started working out (advice needed)

I just got a member ship at 24hr fitness and my main goal is to lose weight and stand up straight. My shoulder slump forward and I slouch. whats the best exercise to do to help with my posture? and whats the best exercise to do in addition to cardio and crunches to lose my stomach
Thanks in advance Noah

lots of back exercises... I also slouch and doing deadlifts has made me keep my lower back straight. Back exercises will help pull your shoulders back..

The best thing you can do though is always think about it and correct your posture when you sit or stand.

Seated rows, bent over barbell rows, dead lifts, lat pull downs. Those 4 exercises will be the basic building blocks for any serious back workout. From there, you can modify the exercises and add more if you so choose (I LOVE dumbell horizontal rows!!!)

make sure you are stretching. a forward head and inverted shoulders can be cured by a lot of stretching and foam rolling, along with building strength in your muscles.

People with strong backs can still have bad posture. I'm not suggesting that you don't need to lift, but it won't necssarily correct your problem. You simply need to make a conscious effort to sit and stand straight.
