Weekly weigh-in #1

It's been a week already, how are you transformers coming along with your progress? Post up your current weight in here, as well as any tips, observations, or gripes that you've come across in your first week on the road to health and happiness.

I started the contest of with a bang, I had a bad case of the flu from day one, and hadn't worked out all week, so I was nice and week/bloated. I'm still feeling lingering effects of being sick, so the couple workouts that I did get in late this week were lackluster at best. Anyway, at least the weight gain is subsiding, and I'm down 2lbs, even though I'm still heavier than pre-flu.

I know you guys have fared better, post up those weights and results!

Went from 264 down to 259.

Running sucks, but I'm happier with the diet portion than I ever have been. Certainly easier to make good decisions on what to eat when you're busting ass at the gym 5 days a week.

212.4 this morning.

Started at 215. After weeks of not being in the gym and months of halfassing it and putting on weight, the contest has really put me in high gear. I'm feeling fucking great this week. Didn't miss a workout and I'm getting back into the cardio also which is the hard part for me.
I would have been a bit lighter this morning, but last night after shoulders and time on the elliptical, I had a severe craving for some sushi. Probalby the one time all week I overdid it on the eating, but at least it wasn't too unhealthy

Got back on a strict diet and cardio. Got in 50 miles of biking and 20 miles of running this last week. Also got back in the gym and started lifting. End results,, some how im up 5 pounds, and at 239 which I havent been at in a while now. Not sure what explains that, but im not going to let it get me down.

I weighed in yesterday at 132.5, three days prior i was at 130. My posted weight of 125 was roughly two weeks ago in Florida which i was recovering from the flu.
Im not sure if thats an accurate starting point since i was sick, so if need be, to make it fair, we can change my starting weight to 130. (we can let judges decide)

I got measured at the gym this morning. Their crappy scale said I weighed 147. Mine at home says 144-145.

Anywho - Right now I'm at 26% BF. Time to start doing the weights and not all just cardio. My goal is 20% BF by May 15.

Yeah it is hard.. I used to eat a bag of chips for breakfast and a sorry ass lunch.

The last two weeks ive been eating 3 solid meals and maybe a 4th. 3-4 protein shakes a day, and in between every meal im eating a snack.

check out the lean mass diet on bodybuilding.com

Its really interesting how the diet works. They say eat good carbs for breakfast but you want fats to compliment it. So you would eat almonds or peanuts in your meal as well because it helps the body from processing the carbs to fast and creating an insulin spike. Lots of good info in there. They also recommend 6 meals a day.

I'm down to 187 from 190 off of 4 days of running 4 miles and 2 straight weeks without a soda. Haven't really had a chance to get in my good cardio (cycling & eliptical) because I'm still waiting on my company to get me my access card for our gym.

Complaints: No-fat plain yogurt tastes like ass, shopping to eat healthy takes alot longer, proportioning what I eat sucks cause I'm constantly hungry.

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said,"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land." Now Obama has stolen your shovel..., taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

you will get used to it just try to eat something every 3-3.5 hours and drink lots of water to make yourself feel full it helped my fat ass... Long grain brown rice helped me also to go the 3 hours without eating.

That's mighty optimistic. I'm not saying that it can't be done, but that means trading almost 10lbs of fat for almost 10lbs of muscle. Adding 10lbs of muscle is hard enough without trying to lean down at the same time. If you succeed I wanna know your secret.

The eating every 3-5 hours is what's tough for me. Are we talking like full meals or just snacking on something? I'm loving the brown rice, I actually think it tastes alot better. Just curious to see what sorts of sauces you guys are using for flavor on things like rice, chicken, and fish. I know that i don't want anything that's real heavy, real oily, or that has alot of sugar. But I'm sorta getting tired of plain chicken already.

No secrets here. I've already done it for the other contest i did. Started at 195 and ended at 195 with a 4% BF drop that you could clearly see.

Im trying for 5% this time at 200lbs.

Monday I weighed in at 144 on the gym scale... Wednesday it said 142.5. Not sure how accurate that is? Probably had to do w/ what I had to eat, etc. Anyway, they also said I am 27% body fat as of Tuesday. I will have them do it again in 6 weeks. I worked out for an hour Mon, Tues, and Wed, and did a bit of cardio last night at 9:00 when I finally got the chance. I have a girl scout function tonight so I am using today as a "break" but I'll be back at it tomorrow. The worse I've had to eat all week is 2 peanut butter cookies - AWESOME compared to my normal eating habits of fast food 2-3 times per DAY!

Well my diet last year was wake up
6am 6 egg whites, 1cup oatmeal ass loads of vitamins

9-9:30 = protien shake with nat. peanutbutter, yammits.

12-12:30= 6oz chicken breast with just about any miss dash very low sodium and pretty good for u. 1cup brown rice cooked, 1 cup broccli, 2 slices low fat to nonfat cheese.

3-3:30= same as mid morning (shake)

6-6:30= same as lunch meal substitute chicken for 1can of tunna if u want, 1 sweetpotato or 1cup brown rice and 1 cup broccli or any green vegie.

work out

9-9:30 shake without all addins or a nonfat yogurt, can of tuna

that was my diet for a month until I hurt my self. lost 14lbs and 4%bf was pretty ez to maintain that diet just make a big thing of rice and portion it out in the tupaware 1cup things. I was also doing venom and glucosamin and lpp6 and about a gallon of water a day. I was never hungry and that shit was filling

Starting weight was 179-180 depending on doo doos. Current weight is 173. My trainer has got me off the cardio everyday (apparently I was over doing it) down to just 2 days a week and now were hitting the weights a lot more. Hopefully at the next weigh in I'll be up a few pounds. :-)

This would all be a lot easier if I didn't have to eat all the damn time. Eating is starting to feel like a job.

Down to 169 ><
I cleaned up my diet a good deal, and no strength loss, so even though the scale is heading in the wrong direction...I'll take it as a plus.

My workout regiment for the last week:

Workouts:

Monday-
"Fran" w/ 95lb barbell (I need to go less, lost intensity)
21 squat thrusters, 21 pullups
15 squat thrusters, 15 p/u
9, 9
Time was just under 10 mins.

Tuesday-
Burpie ladders climbing to 8 and down, to 6 and down, to 4 and down

Wednesday-
100 pushup burst

Thursday-
"Annie"
50 jump rope double unders, 50 sit-ups
40 d/u, 40s/u
30, 30
20, 20
10, 10
Finished in 16:36

Friday-
Combat focused PT
Wore full ACUs, flak jacket, and ACH
Ran 1 mile
Lunged ~30m uphill
50 air squats
Bear crawl ~70m
25 burpies
Time: 19:10

My shoulders have been dead all weak, so the bear crawls were damn near impossible for me. This weekend is going to be a nice rest.

It can be done naturally for sure. This is a 3 month transformation i did last year. I dropped 4.5% BF and started and ended at 195lbs.

I ended up at 164 as of today... that's about a 4lb gain. I've been using my scale at home to monitor my BF% and it's stayed constant at 17%. I managed to work out every day this week in some form or fashion. It actually worked out pretty well that by the time certain areas came due again for a workout, they had just became unsore! LOL! Woot! I'm not gonna worry about the BF% too much until towards the last month or so of the contest. Feelin' good this week and have been eating around 2300-2500 calories a day and around 210g of protein a day.

thats a decent goal, but i would push for more in that amount of time... ive always made goals towards the more extreme end.

More?!?! You're killing me! You don't think aiming to lose 6% BF in less than 3 months is extreme? It is to me.

Nah. You weighed in @ 147... 6% is 10lbs. With proper dieting, you could probably lose 15-18 with EASE in 10 weeks and only sacrifice a single lb. or 2 of muscle doing it.

i'll weigh in on monday again, since i started monday. hit the gym 4x this week and ate a lot better, but i think i just stayed the same weight or gained a pound since i am really builiding more muscle. i am not worrying about the scale as much as how my clothes fit for now since i have a lot of fat going to muscle from being prego. i know i'll slowly see the scale change before long. it took 9 months to put it on.......as they say.
