Yes, some do them on leg days. I do them on back days though.

Depends. I do pretty serious deadlift workouts, and if I am going for some hard shit I'll give deadlift it's own day.

Easy day with back exercises as well: 10 x 135, 8 x 225, 6 x 315, 3 x 365, 3 x 385, rep to fail @ 405, try for new ORM after 60 second pause

Bust my ass day: 10 x 135, 6 x 225, 3 x 315, 3 x 365, 3 x 385, 3 x 405. Standing on a 3" box: 5 x 315, 5 x 365, 3 x 385, fail @ 405

thats good stuff . when i was doing them some dude came up to me and kept telling me though out my hole set that deadlifts are bad for u and that iam going to hurt myself. this was coming from a guy that does benchpress with his hole midsection in the air and just slamin the weight of his chest.
so then i finally tell him to fuck off then he starts walkin away saying "ur gonna fuck off ur back" that fucking dick sucker

if you keep your back straight it's no worse than squats.

SSlow01 spent $5000 to out run a stock cobra!

I think deadlifts are bad for your back in a powerlifting sense...but then again, pretty much any ORM lifts are bad for you in time.

And I also think squat can injure you much easier than the other lifts, but that's all part of the game i guess.

I know that I've felt much healthier in running and normal exercises since I stopped squatting and deadlifting so much.

I had a pretty solid dead lift workout yesterday. Set 2 new PRs

135 x 10, 225 x 8, 315 x 6, 405 x 4 (PR), 455 for one (PR), 315 x 6 off a 4" box

definitely feeling it today! woke up with my back feeling all sorts of tight.

How did you hurt yourself? I guess my question is more along the lines of what were you doing to hurt yourself while squatting?

Why do people look at you funny if you do deadlifts, squat, and especially straight leg deadlift? While they are benching.... or doing curls.

Because they are the best workouts that are known to man, and they are too big of pussies to do them.

LOL, deadlifts are one of the most body-intense workouts you can do... hence why I make them their own day some of the time.

Calves, quads, hams, lower back, abs, shoulders at the LEAST. Once you start hammering sets at ridiculous weights, 20 minutes of dead lift will leave you straight up blasted.

I agree with Greg... too many frilly weak gym flowers hear about getting hurt and regard dead lifts as 'stupid' since they think everyone is gonna hurt their back doing them. Knock on wood... I have never suffered an injury doing dead lift... proper form PWNZ JOO!

The only leg workout you really need is seat calf raises. Maybe leg extensions once a month or so.

+1, I do deads with legs and I always get someone looking. I dont even lift real heavy 3x10 225 and 1x10 275 just enough to keep the muscles tight.

Front squats. They're great for keeping you balanced, and teaching you proper squat technique.

He is hitching the weight at the top of the lift, jerking it across the top of his thighs. That is bad form. It can also get you hurt.

I see. His form isn't really all that bad if you don't mind being one of those guys that uses their back more than anything else. Not my style personally.

It's LA Fitness. I'd rather be at a junkyard gym.

At Ridgmar? If you're there, try to get out of your contract and move over to Fit 4 Life.

The F4L at Ridgmar isn't fancy, but there is a lot of equipment, and it's never really that busy.
