You got a strong back, you'll go up quick. Once I got my technique squared away, I went from 275 to 375 in 2 1/2 months.

Why sumo? I train a Little sumo but I pull more conventional. All the best lifters pull conventional anyway.

i never really tried conventional. to me it seemed that you did not have to move the weight as far with sumo. maybe ill try a little more conventional. either way i love those dead lifts. lol

I seen that you're 5'11" from the other thread. Conventional would probably be better for you unless you have some short arms for some reason. Sumo is for short people with short arms.

Im pulling 600 conventional and can probably only do 500 sumo if i tried to max it.

Let me explain since nobody here powerlifts i guess. The boards are to work on your sticking point and lockouts. The first part of the lift is the easiest part on singles. When you maxout your bench and fail you will probably get stuck about 4-5"s up. That's 2 to 3 boards. So benching off boards makes your week point stronger so you can lift more for a full lift. Floor press do the same. I do a lot of floor presses. (bench press off the floor) You can only go down to about 3-4"s off your chest cause your arms will hit the floor first.
Yeah, wightlightning did lift or lifts more than me, but hell he also has over 100lbs on me. haha I was 196lbs yesterday for those lifts.

When talking about sumo, he was talking about deadlifts. Some ppl put their legs way out buy the plates and pull. Little bit less range of motion but i hurts my damn hips to do that. Most short people lift that way. Convetional is with your legs just inside your arms about shoulder width like im doing in the first video...

same here. i lift so heavy for my age because i was a fatass for a long time. i'm still a bit of a fatass but a far healthier one and on my way to being trim. my lifting has hit a wall though since i went vegetarian. i'm still taking protein to augment it but it's not the same. it's worth it for lent though. i'll be back to eating the normal way soon
