Jan - May = nothing
May - August = gained maybe 20 or so lbs in just about every lift
August - Dec = lost most of it

But congrats on your progress Greg.

I'm ending the year in basically the same place I started. Moving cross country, new jobs, and all that ruined about 6 months in the gym, for me. At least the last month I've been able to get back to work, 2008 is gonna be my best year ever.

well, some of you made some progress. I cant wait to see how crowded the gym is after Jan. 1st.

My 2006 progress was as good as 2007 if not better. I was coming off injury though. Who knows what 2008 has.

I started the year the heaviest I have ever been after being on crutches for 5 months because of a knee injury. Basically had to start from zero on running, or walking for that matter. Right now i am down 40 pounds, had a goal of 70 total, but seem to be stuck right now at my current weight. Have done a few 10K runs and 100K bike rides this year. Also did a 12 mile run by myself. Im lifting a little more, but not really keeping track of it, cardio is more important to me. Also for the first time in 7 years or so I can wear shirts that the size does not start with a X. Looking forward more results next year.

Sure did. It's amazing what happens when you go from a liquid diet and eating once a day to not drinking/smoking and eating 5-6 times a day and eating the right foods combined with a good workout. I was very underweight for my height before (I'm 6 foot) and now I actually look a bit more normal....

This is my first year of doing anything health related with seriousness.

I started dieting and cardio on May 31st, weighing in @ 159 lbs with a 32" waist. By June 30th I was 144lbs and had a 30" waist. I started going to the gym, lifting weights, and started to trade fat for muscle.

July 1st -
Walking weight: 146lbs
Waist: 30"

Bench: 155 lbs
Dead: 265 lbs
Squat: 275 lbs

As of 12/08 -

Walking weight: 153 lbs
Waist: 29"

Bench: 235 lbs
Dead: 445 lbs
Squat: 405 lbs

Nothing spectacular for me, I've been doing this shit too damn long. I added a couple reps to each of my heavy lifts, and dropped a few lbs of bodyfat. In January I was 214ish, and am now around 208. Not spectacular progress, but steady.

I call BS on the 5 miles straight. I got $$$ that you can't do 5 straight. Hell I have been running alot here lately & barely can break 2.5 miles

I am 6.1 & 225 & you @ 250lbs & only 5.10, 5 miles is a long stretch. I could see 2 miles & maybe 3 miles at best. BUt NO WAY 5 miles

I could do 3.5 easily at 240...it's all about endurance and pacing yourself. I can do about 2.5 to 3 at a 5.5 or so pace right now but only about 1-1.5 at 7.2 - 7.5 mph pace...

I can do 2 miles in one shot starting at 6.0 & working my way up to 9.0 towards the last half mile.

But I doubt Fred can really do 5 miles straight even @ 7.0.

Fred take it easy man. LOL I am just calling BS on the 5 miles. Where cool. But im not gonna blow smoke up your ass. Im gonna call it like I see it. You can't do 5 miles straight even at the lowest setting which is a light jog at 6.0 on the tread mill let alone on concrete.

Im just saying be honest with yourself. You don't have to lie & say you can do 5 miles when anyone who runs knows 5 miles is for marothon runners. But not for your average Joe. Hell let alone your average joe who runs 2 miles a day everyday. It can be done. But 5 miles is alot.

With each post of continually insisting that a streetfight has rounds and trying to sugarcoat the fact that you got your ass whipped only reinforces the idea you don't know what you are talking about.

Had you just admitted you lost and left it at that, your credibility/respect factor would be much higher. Now your pride has taken you from a bad position to a worse position and you don't even see it. Yet another big difference between a fighter and a brawler - intelligence.

Shrimp'n ain't easy....

We will see come Jan 19th.

I did admit I lost. What are you trying to say JKD. I am just saying I relize why I lost. I didn't relize how important condtioning is in FIGHT.

AS I said before. I was not conditioned for the fight when I fought Adam I ran out of gas. PLAIN & SIMPLE.

It all depends on the pace you are running it at, and Fred hasn't said anything about his running pace or how often he does it. I would have no problem running 5 miles at any given time during the year. now if you wan't me to run that 5 miles in under 30min or less, it'll take me a month or two to get there, but 5 miles with no limits except you can't stop running is no problem at all.

Dallas news reports Tony Romo tried to commit suicide last night!

Fortunately he dropped the gun and the bullet was intercepted!

The exact problem with why I bump heads with you fucks here. God forbid someone calls BS on one of you. Then it becomes a gang bang fest on the board.

BUt I could give a fuck less. I like going against the grain. I don't fuck if you like me or not.

I still call BS on your runnning 5 miles.

Well when you call BS on something you know next to nothing about and come out to look a lil foolish...dog piling does occur but it's usually brought on by something stupid being said...like it's some sort of huge feat to be able to jog 5 miles.
