Who here has started their bulking for winter?

I always see these posts about goals and new plans, so I figured I would post mine for the next few months. I got down to about 9% for the summer and decided to stick there. I also havent worked out since the beginning of September. I will do pushups and situps at night, but no weights. Today was my first workout and I just did a total body workout. My 4th set on bench I threw up 225 6 times (a lot more than I thought was going to happen), and for the most part all of my other exercises were higher than expected.

My goal: 205-210 lbs. by mid January, possibly early Feb. Bodyfat will most likely be around 15-17%. No matter what I eat, it will never go above that. The weight im throwing around isnt really a concern to me. I dont really care how much i bench, or how much i row. I just use the numbers to improve my next workout.

After that I usually drop to about 195 and sub 10% BF for late spring/summer.

Currently: 188.5 lbs. in the morning. ~14%, still a good amount of definition in upper body, and midsection. Dropped about 7 lbs. and gained about 5%BF in the 2 months I didn't workout.

Diet: Muscle Milk and lots of chicken and rice or pasta. With as active as I am, and as high as my metabolism is, I plan on consuming around 4000 calories a day to start. After a month, I will increase to about 4500, then possibly 5000 after the new year if necessary.

Well, here we go. Kind of the opposite of the rest of the 'goal' threads.

Kinda off the subject, but...

You guys see the 19yr old, weighing 245lb's get his pro card in Heavyweight Strongman???
I think he got it a few years ago, but I just saw his story last night on True Life, I Want the Perfect Body, Part II.

Supposedly, he's deadlifting almost 900lbs now!!!

Kevin is 19 years old. In 2002 he was named the strongest teenager in the United States. Since then his goal has been to become a Professional Heavyweight Strongman. Most don't peak until their early 30's, when muscle becomes more developed--but Kevin has always been strong for his age. Kevin is 6'3 and weighs 245lbs. The majority of competitors he'll face weigh anywhere from 300-350lbs. To gain weight, he is supposed to consume an average of 7,000 calories a day. Despite eating non-stop over the course of two months, he fails to gain any weight, but he's gotten stronger. He attributes it to the intensity of his workouts. Kevin trains for the competition events performing things like a car-dead-lift hold, lifting Atlas stones, and pushing log over his head. He goes into the competition feeling pretty drained, worrying that he over-trained. Amazingly, he is in first place going into the final event in the competition, but ends up dropping an Atlas stone and loses by three seconds. Two months later, Kevin placed first and is now a professional Strongman.

I dunno that you'd call it "bulking", but I've desisted the cardio, and switched to a lower rep range. I'm keeping my diet clean with a little more rice and oatmeal than usual. My goal is to creep up to 220lbs (214lbs at 9-10% now) by January 1, without adding much extra bodyfat, and to rep 440 before I start cutting for next summer.

Here's a question for everyone. How long are your workout sessions when you try to bulk up? I lift for about a hour to hour and half. It just depends on which days I do upper and lower body.

If by bulking, you mean gaining 10lbs of fat, then yes.

I usually gain 10 lbs in the winter, lose it again in the summer.
Not by choice, but so far this year I havent gained any yet, and sticking with my routine im losing a few going into the winter.

I'm still cutting fat, so I'll be using this winter to continue to do that so I can hit my goal by summer. Mid-sections are a bitch when you used to be a fatass.
