Supplements

How often should I take supplements? I just started on them so I have been taking it right before I work out. I want to take enough to do some good but I dont want to put on fat because of it. I am using amplify the guy at gnc said it was the most popular.

heh...be careful what those GNC guys tell you...they get paid comission.

And give a little more detail on what amplify is please.

What's in "Amplify"? It's active ingredient(s) will determine when it's best to take it.

it took a little searching but I came up with this about Amplify.

it is made by NDS Nutrition

General rule of thumb.....protein is protein is protein. Take any kind, and lots of it. At least 1 gram for every pound you WANT to weigh. The best way to lose bodyfat is to keep the supplements to a minimum. ( a good multi, creatine, and maybe aminos) and eat 6 meals a day.....good meals. You will drop weight immediately. Most people just don't want to go to the time or trouble. Stay away from stimulants..they may work at first, but can weaken heart valves, not to mention thin your blood way to much due to the thermogenic stack, willow bark, caffeine and ephedrine. Just my opinion as a trainer.

And oh yeah, MOST of the GNC employees just parrot what they are told. You are better off researching at bodybuilding dot com for info. Good forums over there.
