This is a n=1 study (meaning its all about me)
When I'm trying to lose weight I run 6x a week. When I'm "normal" I run 4-5 times a week. Now, I also do weights, I bike, I swim as well.
But for some reason the weight seems to disappear alot faster when I up the run to 6 times a week as the detriment to biking and swimming.
Keep the protein and carbs up and the fats down. Eat balanced with some carbs, protein and fat in every meal.
Just by the fact you started running... if you don't change your diet any you will lose weight if you maintaing your weight before. If you were gaining weight before you started running you may want to cut back on the calories a bit.
If you run 6 times a week for 30 minutes at a 9 or so minute per mile pace you'll burn up 1800 calories per week just running. Add in probably another 900 calories a week in weight lifting (3x a week) and you created 2700 calories worth of new activity.
Cut back 500 calories a week in your diet for 3500 calories and you created about a 1 3/4 pound weight loss per week. 6 weeks and you lose 10 pounds.
