Dont eat out

I have really been pushing myself hard. Ive been working out eating right and doing 30 minutes on the bike a night. I dont eat more than 10 grams of fat a day. I watch my calories and in 2 months I have lost 40 lbs. This has not been easy lately the cravings have started I cant drive past Taco casa without drooling. I would kill a man for a Whataburger. But I have been very disciplined and not let myself be tempted. I also gave up soft drinks which was very difficult for me. So this friend from work asks me to go eat after work I say ok. we go to Bostons pizza and I look over the menu cant find anything that looks even close to healthy. So I come across the oven baked salmon filet. I get the baked veggies and think its salmon how bad could it be. Well I get home look it up on the internet. 50 grams of fat 700 calories. How do you do that to salmon. It wasnt coved in butter or cheese or a hamburger. I guess I wont eat out again until I reach my goal. The cheese pizza had less fat.

Eating out is difficult. Usually a chicken breast is the easiest way to eat healthy. I wouldn't necessarily cut out ALL fat just make sure you eat the good fats (almonds, olive oil etc.) Salmon is naturally high in fat. Halibut is a better option for fish. Congrats on the weight loss! I've lost 25 so far in on month.

What was the oven baked portion of it? Most likey it had some egg and some oil in the breading. Wild salmon itself is about 28% fat with less than a gram of saturated fat. It's very high in Omega-3 fats which is wonderful. Add in some grilled veggies and maybe some rice and you have a dinner less than 20% fat and less than 500 calories.

Halibut is about 18% fat.

Nothing wrong with Salmon at all.

I eat Atlantic Wild salmon... I broil it for 7 minutes then finish baking for 7 -9 more.

Here are the numbers for a 7 oz. filet:

357 calories, 49 grams protein, 0 carbohydrates, 14 grams fat (10.5 is EFA)

wherever you ate is definitely loading up the taste receptors with some buttered breading or something!

Everyone else made valid points, so I'll make a weak one. Don't abstain completely, 24/7/365. It's not always a bad thing to indulge, whether it be eating junk, or just thinking you're eating junk. Makes it easier to go back at it the next week.

I always give into my cravings. I use to fight the urges and they seemed to multiply (my biggest vice is Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream).

Then one day I just gave in, said fuck it. So I started not worrying about cravings of Ben & Jerry's and just ate it when the feeling hit.

Funny thing is once I did this, my cravings dropped significantly. What was a twice a week craving become a once a week and now a once a month craving.

I pretty much listen to my cravings now. Possibly its telling me I'm low on either fats, proteins or carbs.

Looking forward to the road that lies ahead...We enjoy reflecting upon past roads traveled, reliving our adventures through photographs taken and stories penned...Though, it's that next road that drives us onward...that next journey...And who knows where it'll lead?

You're telling me.

I moved out here from California last summer. I craved In-N-Out Double Double's so bad it was not even funny. Fortunately for me, I still work for the same company in California and I fly out there once a month. I don't look forward to it as much anymore nor do I have the constant cravings the week before I go out there.

Me too. There is a B&J shop walking distance away, so I don't feel too bad, I can justify the brownie w/ Phish Food, because I'm walking there and back.

There is a place in Plano... Henry's Ice Cream. Fortunately it is 30 minutes away or I'd be in major trouble.

Henry's ice cream made with 16% butterfat mix from Schepps then flash frozen at -20 degrees.

The only other retail shop I see that comes close to Henry's and B&J is Double Rainbow in San Francisco.

LOL!

Eric, if you're ever in ATL there is a place called 'One Hot Cookie,' the ice cream is just marginal, but the cookies fucking rock. Made to order w/ 50 options for toppings or mixers, covered w/ ice cream.
