Day 18

I posted on my little "project" a while back. Basically, I was drinking 12-14 Dr Peppers a day, eating fast food about 3 times a week and a big dinner. I weighed 213. Some of the guys at work all put $50 each on a friendly wager to see who can lose the most weight by 8/10/2007. All I have done is cut out the Dr Pepper completely, run every 3rd day, and go almost completely fat free on the food (while cutting down the amount). Anyway, I just weighed myself on the scale and I'm 192. We use the same calibrated scale at the Baylor Health Center at the jobsite.

21 pounds, 18 days!! Eat your heart out Jared!

Congrats dude.

My best weight loss was about 12 years ago when I took a year off triathlons to spend time with the family (new wife, new kid).

I went from 175 to 230 pounds over the course of the year (actually 10 months). Not necessarily eating bad but I was still eating 3500+ calories a day but not training very much at all (maybe 15 miles running a week and a trip to the pool every now and then).

From October to February I went from 230 down to 180. I still have the "fat clothes" in my closet... size 36 pants and x-large shirts.

Felt much better getting into my 30s again after 10 months.

Never stopped eating just started training again.

My 401K is now a 400K (was 301K)

Wow!! 12-14 Dr. Pepper's a day. That's crazy. I haven't had even a sip of Soda since 2001. I don't even remember what Coke or Dr' Pepper taste like...

Nice job though. Keep up the hard work.

Was my wedding anniversay on July 2nd and we went out to eat last night at III Forks.

The scale tells me I consumed 7 pounds of food/wine (weighed this morning). I actually took the entire day off of working out but didn't change my eating habits. When I jumped on the scale last night I consumed 10 net pounds of food/fluid yesterday. 175 to 185.

My 401K is now a 400K (was 301K)

Thatnks for the thumbs-up, guys. Day 36 and I'm at 28 pounds. 213 down to 185 as of this morning. 3 inches in waist. I just want to get to 175 and I'll be happy.

I was lifting AND cardio, but started to notice more muscle gain than I expected, which hurts me during this cometition, so just a mild, every-other-day cardio routine. The first day after I win this bet, I'm going mostly to lifting with cardio in between.

The first 48 hours or so I had a little shakes with head aches. The next few days after that, I still had cravings. I guess after about a week, I didn't even think about it. I've tried it in the past, but never made it that far. I'm still DP-free, though! I'll have a Diet Coke here and there, but nothing like what I was drinking with the Dr Pepper.
