It's not a hernia :)

I experienced a pain in the lower gut, and then after a couple of days the pain
dulled down a lot and I was walking around iwth it for about 3 weeks. I thought I
had a herina.

I finally went to the doc, and after talking about the symptoms and everything
else he said it's not a herina.

He said I have the symptoms of Diverticulosis. I need to change my diet to more
fiber. Guess I'm getting a little older

Glad it's not a $10,000 hernia

My dad suffered a hernia when he was in his 20s.

He finally got it fixed when he was in his late 40s.

My 401K is now a 400K (was 301K)

Diverticulosis is worse than a hernia, but if your doctor seriously thinks you may have that, you need to go see a gastro and have a colonoscopy done asap.

Diverticulosis is no joke. If you have it when you are young, chances are that you will eventually need surgery, where they cut out the portion of your colon that is jacked, and while it heals, you have to wear a colostomy bag for 3 months.

I just went through this whole scare over the last month. My gastro seemed pretty sure that I had it, but my symptoms were more severe than just abdominal pain. Luckily, the procedure showed that it wasn't diverticulosis.

I'd much rather have a hernia. I did, actually, for about 10 years, before I waited too long, and had a rupture. Emergency surgery fixed it up just fine. Next time, I won't wait so long.

Had my hernia repaired back in feb of this year im 31. Then I was under the doctor found my family and told them I had another one on the other side both inguinal. I waited a little over a year and could not take the pain anymore. I still get some pain down there every now in then.

Actually, yea, just about! LOL.

I guess it wasn't common to get surgery on a hernia back in the late fifties. Funny thing was I thought my dad was fat growing up because he had a bulge from the hernia.

When he had it fixed he shrunk two size in jeans.
