Well for one, your not supposed to bring your knees to your chest.
And two, your back and butt are not supposed to move at all, keep them planted against the pads through out the entire movement.
As far as the soreness goes, it's probably your spine being a little agitated(sp) from the stress of the weight combined with the imprpoer form you have used.
