I understand that this may be an oxymoron, but what are the best tasting Protein bars?

Detour Carmel and Peanut...end of story.
I eat 2-4 a day, and purchased them at TRUE wholesale(around .81 a FULL-sized bar shipped!).
Best of luck finding them at this price.
I buy at least 144 at a time.

Detours are good, but I love MetRX's "Big 100". It's more of a meal replacement, but perfect for post workout or a meal on the go.

Any particular reason you're looking into a bar over a powder?

I priamarly drink shakes, but bars are good for when you're on the go, and don't wanna screw with refrigeration or mixing a shake. I brink out to the lake.

I'd say for convienence. Lot easier to reach in the pantry and scam a bar than it is to mix up some powder.

I also use them while training (along with GU gels.) If I have a session of running or biking that is over 2-3 hours then I'll cut up some bars and carry them with me. Pop a few pieces every 20 minutes or so.

shakes are much easier in my opinion. 2 scoops, water, and you're good to go.

the bars get old. although lately, i've been buying the APEX holiday peppermint protein cookies. 160 calories, 16 protein, 4 fat....and delicious. they come out to about a dollar a piece, and are great for a snack.

I always eat half a protein bar over a shake in the mornings before workout. I know from experience that the shakes didn't always sit well in my stomache compared ti the dryer bars..shakes almost guaranteed to come up. Plus, I don't feel like hassleing with a shake at 5 AM.

Not if you don't want to screw with carrying around a shaker, and cleaning it out later.

the south beach diet protein cereal bars sold at walmart are cheap and taste great. cinnamon creme and chocolate peanut butter are the best imo... might give them a try, 200cals, 20g's protein, 5g fiber, 7g fat, and the rest is sugar alcohol...
