Personally, I lost a ton of weight just watching what I was eating and running each day. I don't really lift weights. I started by eating 1200 calories a day, mostly protein. I slowly dropped it to 1000 calories per day. I now am back to the 1200 calories. I lost a little muscle but I don't care. I have a man to take care of my lifting requirements. My normal workout takes about 30 minutes.
As for him. He eats the same foods I do, but he adds bread/carb products and more of what I eat. He has about 2500 calories per day. He works out on the elliptacle, treadmill, and free weights (rotating muscle groups). His workout is about 45 min.
I absolutely adore working out with my husband.
