Ok need help getting back in shape

Figured I would ask here.

To start I used to have extremely high metabolism due to being on the highschool swim team and was extremely skinny and in shape. Now 8+ years later not so much. I am roughly 6'4" 245lbs. I am up to a size 38-40" waiste and want to get back to at least a 36" I am thinking my ideal weight should be in the low low 200's like around 205-210. I have eliminated all soft drinks as well as started cutting back my portions on meals and drinking alot more water. What types of work outs could I benefit from the most. I plan to start biking and excersing in the next couple weeks once we move to our new house were they have bike trails and such.

Please no flaming as well

Skim is your friend! it takes a little getting used to, but try, it's good for you.

Absolutely, whole milk is full of fat. I drink skim, but even 1% or 2% would be far better.

Stay away from Fried, anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup in it (really horrible stuff, read up on it), most dairy/butter. Pretty much anything that tastes too good to be good for you.

Chicken breast is your friend, tasty and easy to find. You can find a good salad almost anywhere, with some low fat/fat free dressing, it's a good meal if you double up on the chicken.

I am also cutting back heavily on using seasonings and salt, because I think a little bit of my weight gain has been water as well.

Avoid sugars and fried food and weight will drop off quickly.
