Finally got some free weights.

I got enough gift cards and cash for Christmas that I was able to bring home a set of dumbbells with a rack, an olympic bench, bar, curl bar, 300lbs. of plates, and a plate rack. I'll be hanging on to the bowflex for a couple of exercises and also for the wife to use. I'm really looking forward to moving some real weight now.

Dayum, what did that set up cost? I gotta friend who has the bowflex and loves it. Personally I enjoy politicin' around the gym and the $30 a month fee aint so bad neither. Congrats on the weights. That would be a damn good workout, free wieghts along with a little resistance training from the bowflex.........

As I've heard from the ladies before, "a good man is hard to find, but a hard man is good to find."

I'm paying too much for my membership to 24hr when I include the gas. So I'm gonna cancel my membership and get a treadclimber and hopefully a full workout setup. I'm sure I can find one cheap on craigslist.

If the wife doesn't start using it in the next month, it will be for sale come Feb. I had to bring a Japanese math genius over to figure out how to put everything in one room. I could really use the extra space the Bowflex is eating up.

Don't fuck around with that. I had one blow out 4 years ago, and needed emergency surgery. It was a lot worse than if I had just had day surgery. I thought I was dying, and it turned out, I could have.

It's VERY convenient having the equipment at home. I don't have much free time to work out so I get up every morning at 4:45 and go till 6:15. Having to drive to a gym would cut 30 minutes out of what little time I already have. Hit up all the major sports places like Sports Authority, Academy, Dick's. Everyone seems to have some decent sales going on right now. I got all the stuff mentioned above for about $400.

I've tried the working out at home and it isn't for me. I find that I never do it because there are too many distractions. Instead I just stop by the gym on the way home from work.
