My protein shakes taste nasty!

So I bought some Weight Gainer today from GNC... (Mass XXX, sounds like a male enchancement or some kind of porno training, lol) anyway, it goes down smooth, but the after taste is killing me. I added some ice to numb the taste a little bit, but its still that aftertase that is killing me! It's super nasty. What do you guys add to your protien shakes to make them taste a little bit better?

Try the smaller RTD before you buy a large container of anything. You will be glad you did because that stuff can get expensive quickly.

Thats ok as long as you are getting the fat in your diet from the right sources and not McDonalds. I think in the RTD you get 17g fat, 350cals, 34g protein. That will easily fit into a 3000 cal. diet with room to spare. Shit will get you big.

Best shake out there is Xyience XRTD. They taste awsome, 160 cal, 2 grams of fat, 3 carbs, and 30 grams of protein and they are small cans.

Try BSN Syntha 6 or Isopure. Both of these taste great. No need to add anything.

Any weight-gainer will inherently taste better than a plain protein because of thwe added sugar, fat, and simple carbs. When dieting, something like that simply isn't an option, you might as well blend in a snickers bar and icecream to a protein shake, it'd be just as effective, and cheaper. Protein shakes don't tase good, period. It's simply because they can't put all of the fattening additives that make food delicious. I view it as a necessary fuel, and taste is secondary to cost and bioavailability. Find one that you can stomch, and stick to it, it's likely the best you're gonna get without adding calories and fat that you don't want or need.

FWIW I'm currently using On Nutrition protein powder.

I've always used ON powder, it's not bad with cold water in a shaker cup. I usually add a scoop of weight gainer to help out with the taste and add some calories.

Depending on what flavor of protein shake you have you can add strawberries and it will be f*kin tasty! Or yea pretty much any protein shake that is chocolate you will be able to stomach! Its gotten to the point where they taste damn good to me!

I add a few spoonfulls of peanut butter and a half to whole banana. That usually works. I don't know what that does to the fat intake, but it's good.
