Would anyone be interested in a powerlifting meet?

I would like to see some of you fags actually lift weights Really though, post up if you would be interested I could see if I could get some gym to hook us up with something.....

I've always lifted for growth and symetry, not necessarily size, but I'm up for a gym meet....and yes, I actually do get to the gym more than once a month.

Im in but like JC I will need some time to get my weak azz in shape. I have been going to the gym every night afer work and believe it or not Im progressing slowly but surely...

hell yes

I was in powerlifting for 3 yrs in highschool and I do more of a powerlifting workout anyways..deadlifts, bench , and squats below parallel...none of the p*ssy *ss knee bends

LOL! I remember a guy who did that, one rep, then bragged that he was as strong as a couple of us that worked out at 315.

I also hate it when you see someone benching and their spotter is straining just as much as they are, then after they finish they get up like they are all bad, I just want to go over there and knock the spotter off and see if they can do one rep with the weight.

Yea, that sucks too. But I have noticed, that sometimes when doing max bench, alot of the weight can be lifted, but I psych myself out. Its weird....I will put the weight on the bar, and benching it myself, I get to sticking points and shit, but then I will have 100 lb Melanie (my GF) just put her index fingers on the bar, no more, and I push it up like lightweight....its all in your head

i hear you on that one arh. What i do to "psych"myself" is imagine a bomb sitting on your chest and as soon as the bar touches that that bomb(your chest) it explodes. You trick yourself. its weird but hey it works for me!

Im with playahata here, I may not be able to lift ten million pounds but I do it with proper form, and do it to form semetrical muscle groups, sorry, Im out, this sounds like a pissing contest in the works.

Whenever I can get off of work, I am about 6ft 4-5 350lbs. Where are you doing this at and when? I work just about 24/7.

There is going to be a bench press and push-up contest on march 2 or sometime around then at the Lord's Gym in waxahachie, it is $20 buck s to enter, but you get a shirt. They have beginners class, under a year class, and over a year with a over under 30 age broke up into weight classes. Should be some good competition, I am going for a 480lb bench. I will get more info on it and post a phone number.

I have been working out for about 3 months. In the last two I have really gotten with it and gained a tad over13lbs (I lost 5 the first month) and I am up to just a bit over 159 naked. I am only 5'8" or so....push up contest and I am in.

I work my upper body four times a week, but never do a flat bench with a bar. I use free weights mostly. I don't even work my legs (I am disproportianate, I have always had thick legs, but my upper body is real thin)

I just concentrate on my form and I am trying to look good. I really don't care how strong I am.

So when is the pissing contest? Are we gonna have a push up contest? What about pull ups? I think I can do a few of those.

I've had a damned shoulder injury that won't go away for about a month now! I can still push up the weight but it hurts like hell so i don't think i would be up for any bigger dick contests...not at least for another month or two anyway!

That powerlifting meet is march 2 in waxahachie. It is 10 bucks to enter and you get a shirt. The classes are broken up pretty good.
The name of the gym is "The Lord's Gym". I will get the phone number and post it later.
