Elbow pain?

I got a very sharp pain in my elbow the other day while working my triceps. It felt almost like somebody poking me with a needle. It was only in my left elbow. I am right hand by the way. The PT at the gym said it was a tendon and to just take it easy for a while until it gets better.

Anyone have any suggestions on what it could be or what to do about it?

Thanks in advance.

that happend to me a while back but it was in my wrist, what i say you should do is get a smaller bumb bell like 15 or 20lbs and work that one side out by it's self seeing as your right handed you right elbow is prolly a little stronger, but thats just my 2 cents i would give it a try....and if that doesnt work you can get some pills at gnc that are for joints

You already got the right advice, listen to the PT.

tex is correct. working with more weights will just aggravate the injury. rest it for 2wks and take 800mg motrin 3 times a day if it bothers you. you should be fine after 2 weeks assuming that it is a tendon/ligament injury. good luck.

The only time it hurts is when I try to work my tricep. I can still bench and do other stuff.

I have the same thing in my wrist. I can push or pull anything straight, however exercises that twist hurt too bad. I havent been able to do any arms in 2 weeks.

I have gotten new best in all chest and back in the last two weeks though.
