i've heard this also. Probably cause you're not as tired as you would be after a long day of whatever you do. but then again I cant work out unless i've eaten a few hours earlier. Anyways theres no way in hell I'm gonna wake up at 5 in the morning! So i work out between 6 and 8pm.
If you are trying to lose weight, work out (cardio) in the morning. Don't eat for an hour after cardio. This forces your body to rely on stored energy (fat) to get its energy. Remember breakfast means breaking the fast!
