Funny how the body works....

There I was, doing my squat/deadlift workout last night. the squats have been coming back nicely btw, as I got 245X10, 255X9, 270X6 and 280X5.

So I get done with those and go over to do my deadlifts, and am bent over loading a 45 lb. weight on, just slightly twist my back and OUCH, one of the muscles on the flank of the old lower back just twanged and started hurting like a bitch.

That put an end to my deadlift workout right there.

It's funny how you can lift 300 lbs. as long as you stay in form but you twist just a little out of the groove and 45 lbs. of weight can fuck you up....!!!

done that before...loaded a trailor with 25 bags of concrete..no problem.

20 minutes later, bend over to tie my shoe and pulled a muscle in my back.

Sorry to hear it Allan, injuries like that can put a serious damper in progress.

Awe that bites, Al. Looks like you were on a roll in your routine as well.

How does it feel now? Gonna take it easy for a few days?

i'm figuring I'll be back at 100% on Monday at the latest. My next leg/deadlift day is Wednesday...I think I should be able to do that one with no problem.

I just did the same thing. Doing hammer curls and after my last set I walked over to the weight rack and set the weight in like I would put a glass of water on a table. yoink! went my right oblique. I put the left weight on the rack like I was supposed to and went crying home to my protein shake.
