Garland/Mesquite area???

Need to find a good gym in my area. I used to work at Royal Gym on walnut and marsh, but I hate driving across town to just go to the gym. I am looking for something closer and not some foo foo gym with plush carpeting, and a great juice bar. I need a place where they are not afraid for me to touch their weights. Any help??? Thanks

I used to go to Gold's Gym in Garland, but it turned into a joke. I'm waiting to get a membership at the new Lifetime Fitness on Garland Rd. at 190 in Garland. They'll be open soon enough.

I have a friend that works out at 24 Hour Fitness in Mesquite, but she said its always too crowded.

I occasionally still go to Gold's Gym, it's an ok gym.....just go do my workout and leave. SuperMsLopez, do you have any idea what the membership is going to run for?

I have no idea, but I'm sure it won't be cheap.

Hmm... You've given me a new mission: to find out the cost of membership at Lifetime Fitness. To be continued....

I'm a member of the lifetime up here in Plano and I pay $65 a month for a complete run of the joint.

Weights, machines, rock wall, basketball, swimming, sauna/hot tub, tennis courts, everything. VERY clean, top notch equipment that's in great shape. Plus, one membership gives access to all locations nationwide.

If anyone wants to go check it out, I'm there every night from 7-10.

(I think it costs $20 unless you get a "complimentary pass" from one of thier membership salespeople. The $20 is refundable if you get a membership though.)
