Have a small snack prior such as a glass of OJ and a hard-bolied egg or something light, and save the full meal until after. If you eat first your stomach will engorge with blood in an effort to start digestion, that blood would be better used to be pumed through the muscles. I've also read that eating a meal within the hour prior to a workout actually lowers the testosterone produced during that session.
