I have to load SAS onto a Linux system and heard that it is a memory hog! Someone told me it requires 3 times the amount of Ram as the largest database you want to manipulate. Is that true??? The HW requirments say I need a pentium class CPU and 64 megs of Ram, that is pretty pathetic. Something like that would probably die with the 3 gig database I have!
I know, the box they gave me has fricken 512 megs! I have a server sitting in the corner with 8 gigs of Ram, expandible to 16 gigs, but they won't let me have it.
