energy center speaker on woot 9-19

Just letting all you audiophile guys out there. Seems to be like a good deal. I'm not really for sure since I have never heard of them.

Energy makes some good speakers. The new stuff is essentially Klipsch, which is good gear. Not my preference as I'm a Polk and Infinity guy, but that's not a bad deal.

I can speak up on the quality of Energy speakers...... I have a full set in my house - a few of you have been there and heard my system, and though it's certainly not the best out there, I think I did pretty good for having wood floors and high ceilings, and an acoustically poor living room.

If I remember right, Energy is a sister company / division of Klipsch. One of my buddies is in the Home Theater business, and was a distributor for Energy. I went to their showroom, off of Midway, and listened to several sets of Energy speakers. I settled on a set - towers, center, surrounds, and a 10" sub. My buds hooked me up on the price, and I wound up with 6K worth of speakers for about $2K - and they sound better then many sets of more expensive speakers I demo'd.

Anyway, they sound kick ass - the sub might be a little smallish now that I've gotten used to the system, but it blends very well and gives no hint of where it's located in the room. I mounted the surrounds too high - I can tell because they sound so much better when I standon the couch, lol..... I will fix them someday.

But, I am pretty impressed with the setup I wound up with for the money spent.

Oh.... looks like they've come down in price. Also, they always get good reviews and have been described as "underpriced".
