My cousin had an aquos 32 and it was pretty nice. I would have a hard time dropping 2k for a 60 inch when you can get a DLP one for 999 or less (frys was 799 two weeks ago) but LCD / LED is better technology. I think DLP looks very good, but if you want the next level, you have to pay for it.
I would plug the sharp model into the search function at http://www.avsforum.com/ for some reviews on the tv you are looking at.
I wouldn't pay that much these days, because the same TV might be half that price in 6 months. Have you been shopping around a lot already? If not, this is a good start. Keep looking and comparing, and you'll be able to spot a smoking deal when it pops up.
I'm sure it's a good TV, but $2k can get you a long way nowadays.
