Question Whatever happened to Custom Stereo & Cellular?

I've been out of car audio for at least 8 years and it's interesting to see how some things change and a few things haven't, at least with local shops. I still have a few "IOU" vouchers from Custom Stereo & Cellular when they messed up an install on one of my old cars. Now that I'm thinking of adding some upgrades to my new car, I figured I could use them for wire and install accessories.

I see Earmark and JR's are still around, but what happened to CS&C? Google isn't turning up anything for me except for their old locations, which appear to have been bought out or folded.

Custom stereo has been gone since ~2005. The original owner sold out to some investors that had no idea what they were getting into.

You're high. There are types of work that they have little to no interest in doing, and/or aren't capable of. EW is a hell of a nice guy and has taken care of a lot of people, but there are a few excellent shops in DFW.

I know, but I see that posted all the time and I think some people drink the Kool Aid a little too much.

Just curious, but what would they not be interested in doing? I haven't run across anything, but anything I want done isn't out of the ordinary.

Most shops do not have or want to commit the time to heavy custom stuff.
