I have some old racing video's on DVD that I want to download onto my computer and split up into sections. What do I need or how do I go about doing that?
Thanks in advance

Are they purchased or "home made"?

Think you need to format/reinstall your OS(XP), read this first.

a video camera usually records in .AVI or .MPEG formats.

seems to me you can simply drag and drop the file from the disc to folder. then use windows movie maker to split the movie into individual segments. i've done it before some stuff shot on a sony handycam.

otherwise, if it's not packed in individual .AVI or .MPEG file formats, then you can use a program like ImgBurn to build the individual VIDEO_TS.bup and .ifo files on to a disc.

Handbrake is a free program that will rip an unencrypted DVD no problems. It won't create chapters or split into sections but depending on what version of Windows you have you can try Movie Maker which should be able to do the sections.

Go pick up the trail version of DVD fab... it's stupid easy to move and if you google CSS version, well it can help you with other types of movies too.
