TV/monitor questions

I'm currently shopping for an LCD TV for the garage, but I would like for it to dub as a monitor for the computer that I'm putting out there also. so this brings me to the question of what input or output connection does the TV have to have to make this possible? also, what kind of features should I be looking for? what is this 1080p/720p stuff?

I really like this one but I don't know:

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vizio-37-LCD-TV/10993795

keep in mind that this is going in the garage so it doesn't have to be super bad ass.

TIA

Yes it will work as a monitor.

From here. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vizio-37-L...Specifications

Quote:
Connections
Connector Type: 3 x HDMI input ( 19 pin HDMI Type A ) 3 x audio line-in ( RCA phono x 2 ) 1 x audio line-in ( mini-phone stereo 3.5 mm ) 1 x VGA input ( 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15) ) 2 x component video input ( RCA phono x 3 ) 2 x composite video input ( RCA phono ) 1 x S-Video input ( 4 pin mini-DIN ) 1 x audio line-out ( RCA phono x 2 ) 1 x SPDIF output ( TOSLINK )
Either one will work for video and the 3.5mm will cover you for sound.
