I am finally going to upgrade the sound in my 04 cobra vert. I have been out of the car audio loop for some time and would like someone to recommend some components for my car. I will be replacing everything...would like to go with a touchscreen 2din radio with nav. No real budget, but would like to stay under $2500. I will do install. In the past I have used and had great success with JL subs/amps. Are these still one of the best options out there? Thanks in advance.
JL rocks. There are cheaper options, and plenty of both fanboys and haters, but if you are willing to fork out the dough for great quality, you won't be disappointed.
$2500 may not get you too far if you are doing double din, amps, subs, front and rear speakers, wiring, etc. Then again, you can probably still get something "decent" if you really so all the install work yourself.
Jl has started putting out some very low end, entry level stuff to compete with all the other cheap brands, so steer clear of that if you want real JL quality.
As always, if you're in DFW, go see EW.
I'm a little biased on this stuff. Car audio is to me what race cars, golf, guns, high end home theater, etc is to others. If you've got the scratch, which I'm sure you do, go ahead and build a killer system!
De ja vu?
