soft power on/off

will a farad capacitor simulate 'soft power on/off' on a car amp that doesnt have that feature built in?

no. the cap is connected to the constant power not the turn on lead.

I know theres something you can get at radio shack, I am trying to find out what it is so I can wire it in my remote 12v wire. my remote wire does not work on my head unit in my truck, so I wired it to ACC and when I turn off the vehicle I get the loud thump from the sub woofer.
