Input and comments on U-Verse?

I'm currently with Dish Network, and have been for at least 10 years. U-Verse is just now available to us. I have 4 sets running through two HD-DVR's. I need HD for 2 TV's and DVR for 2 TV's. I spend about $130 a month right now, and feel like I can do a little better with U-Verse, but wonder about the service itself. Any input would be great. Thanks!

I had dish and had no problems with it. I actually prefer Dish Networks guide over Uverse but Uverse was cheaper and I have no complaints with it. I now pay the same for DSL+TV as I did for just Dish before.

I had issues with both companies but neither is better than the other as far as peformance IMO.

Thanks for the input. I'm still looking over options, and it does seem like the "bundle" Uverse offers is quite a bit cheaper.

Make sure and take a thorough look at their HD channel selection. I'm not familiar with U-Verse, but it would suck to lose a ton of HD channels.

Yep. I'm not going to sacrifice the HD selection for a few bucks. I'm about ready to give up a lot of the HBO/SHO stuff I have just due to not having time to watch it all.

The reason I ask about it here, is it's so new to my area, I don't know a soul that has it yet. I don't want to be a damn lab rat.

You'll get responses, but it will take longer, due to the forum it's in.

I know Chili and Leah had it for a day, then got their Dish back. I don't know what they didn't like about it, I just knew she hated it and switched back.

I've had it for a year now and have had NO problems until recently. The feed would freeze for a few seconds every 5 minutes or so, but I think it was an issue with an update they pushed out. It was only like that for a couple of days, then was fine.

Other than that, no problems whatsoever.

I went from dish to uverse when it first came out. At first I preferred the guide and DVR function of dish but over time it has become better. I never had a problem until I moved and the dvr went out 2 days before disconnect. Its wasnt a huge deal. There are ways to get free stuff out of uverse if you ask. Sign up fo rthe free upgrade and when you call to cancel it the usually have some other type of promotion running so just roll with it for another 6 months then call again.
