Does anyone have any experence with this radio? I'm thinking about buying it.

step up to the 9887. The imprint is well worth it.

That depends on what features he needs.

I bought the 9886 because it is USB and iPod compatible. The 9887 does not support USB out of the box. The 9886 will also support imprint tuning.

Granted, the 9887 has some cool features like the ability to change the color of the display and buttons.
