New build!

I've been looking and looking for a tv stand that fits my needs.....mostly in regard to center channel placement and size. Going custom was all that made sense but alas, I'm not the baller that so many on here are. Thankfully, I have a 5000 sqf wood shop and free wood at my disposal, SO.........

I cut the face out of a single sheet of wood for a clean look.......

I added the supports and inner walls.......

Cut, glued, and filled the top surface.......

And it was ready for stain.....

Rubbed the stain on and let it sit.....

I'll be spraying the first coat of clear on it tomorrow and the last probably saturday. Can't wait to get the TV on it and all the components in their place. The Media PC will have it's own spot and the bottom shelf in the center is my center channels new home.

Oh, and here's the shop

Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for.

Thanks!

It's all scrap, so pretty much everything. Oak, poplar, mahogony, some maple....it's all in there.

Ah man, I'm an amateur compared to the guys in that shop. The things they can do absolutely amaze me.

That looks real good man. I did one months ago, but not that nice. I used birch and stained it with red mahagony(sp).
