Local center channel stand source?

Where can I buy a center channel stand locally? I am looking for a floor mounted stand similar to this:

Speaker is 23.2"W x 8.6"H x 12"D.

amp stands, speaker bases and center stands are f-n expensive. i want to build my own.
use some boxed steel, weld, fill with sand then powder coat.

i bet james b or brooks would be able to make something nice.

did you buy a center channel?

I did some research and found that the "matching" center channel for my 703's, the HTM7, was crap. I decided on the CMC2 instead. Same tweeter technology, matching dual woofers, and slightly smaller kevlar FST driver than in the 703. Auditioned one at hiend audio in plano and decided to buy one. It should be in next tuesday. I got matching rosenut finish as well.

Honestly, I think the HTM3S sounded a LITTLE better (and looked MUCH better IMO than CMC2), but at 2.25X the price, I couldn't justify it. I've had my eye open for a used nautilus HTM1 (previous generation HTM3S) but had a real hard time finding one in the rosenut finish and they typically went for 75-80% of new, which is still more expensive than the one I got.

Built my own, turned out ok. Not the nicest thing in the world, but I think it will work.

Those look nice! I bet they're some great sounding speakers. Fry's does have quite a few stands, though nothing for the center channel I was looking for. Maybe you'll be happy with what they have? Certainly it will be MUCH cheaper than what kef wants for their reference 201 stands!

we'll have to listen to each others setups to compare. problem is i have been changing up stuff non-stop for the last 3 weeks cause i keep buying selling and trading.

a bit ago it was a parasound c2 pre/pro hooked up to a parasound a23 powering my infinity towers now the parasound c2 is gone and the kefs are in so its back to my old hk receiver.

eventually ill have what im looking for.

im gonna check out the home theater store this week for stands. the original kef stands are a rip and are very hard to find.

Would the speakers rest on top or be bolted to the top?

They're allright and everything, but I like to see the drivers.

Eventually I want to do some more wall treatments and paint the room, but that's all for now. I need a better sub too, but that will come in time.

I've got some B&W M1's on stands for surrounds. They're fine for surround, and actually don't sound half bad compared to sony HTIAB cubes, but they don't hold a candle to the 703's.
