I've never understood the hype of really expensive interconnects.

I use lamp cord in my house because I was able to buy a ton of it on spools and it's white to match the walls and baseboards. I always figured it was as good as the expensive stuff.

It is just marketing, always has been. Someone thinks if they pay more it is better. Cables, wire, and all the sort have always been that way. 400% or more markup.
