I have a Denon AVR2808CI, it will have to do for now. Maybe a Rotel amp down the line, but it will be a bit before that happens.

I've never heard the KEF stuff, but auditioned almost the entire B&W line and really liked them.

b&w is good shit. i would sport some nautilus if i could.

where did you go to listen to them? finding a good electronics store is now a thing of the past. just some mom and pops spots left. and if you dont mind me asking, how much did they cost you?

im upgrading my equipment to seperates right now and have my eye on some parasound halo peices.

I actually went to Modia off southlake blvd to listen to them, and happened on a used pair on audiogon. Snatched them up for $1750 plus shipping, just a bit above MSRP for a single speaker.

I also went to a place called Audio Concepts at Preston/Forrest and it's good too.

I am! Have you ever listened to GOOD speakers? These were $3300 MSRP and they're decent, but not really that good. It was the most I could justify spending.

Thanks man! I haven't gotten the center yet... trying to find a used one in rosenut. Know anyone who has one? Found a couple on ebay in maple and walnut, light cherry but nothing in dark cherry or rosenut.

I'm sure you have things that you spend your money on that I'd think was ridiculous. Different strokes for different folks You'd probably think my set up sounds horrible and not worth the money, but I like it and it keeps a smile on my face

True, very true.

BTW, got my new motor today. Mass Air kit should be delivered next week. Before too long, this truck may actually run right! And if I'm lucky, should have some good HP too!

Thanks man, trying to put a setup together, a little at a time as I find deals on used stuff.

Got this so far:

Denon AVR2808CI
B&W 703 fronts
B&W M-1 surrounds
Some old 10" Cerwin Vega sub

I need a good center and a better sub and I should be done for awhile unless I get find a good deal on some B&W 705's for the rears and run 7.1

I've got the B&W 702's, with matching center and in-ceiling rears. I love the set-up, but am looking for something to replace my puny Harmon Kardon receiver soon.

You can certainly sink tons of cash into home audio, but once you have a system you're happy with, it will last you for years. And buying used (as I did too) is a great way to save 50%+.

Buy a good set of speakers and an amp. Then buy a good processor. The speakers and amp will last you a lifetime, the only thing you'll ever have to replace will be the processor, and you will have a very high end set up all the time.
