hdmi cable version

Ive got a brand new 50ft HDMI cable that i bought last year and was going to throw up on ebay. Is there anyway to tell what HDMI versions it supports? IE 1.3a,etc... I dont see anything written on the packaging or the cord itself.

It's probably not then. Where did you buy it? Normally it'll say somewhere if it's 1.3a/etc compliant.

well the easiest way to tell is how much you paid for the cable and who makes it. A 50ft cable certified for 1.3 would have been expensive, well unless you purchased it from monoprice.

You should be able to look at your original invoice via your order history with monoprice. I'm sure they could still pull it up for you.

i'll have to log on and see if has my order history. BTW, what happens if you plug into 1.3a components but the cable doesnt support it. Will it just not pass a signal?

It will still pass, it will just downgrade the signal. It probably won't be noticeable unless you're going for 1080p/24 stuff.

I dont think they sell a 1.3 compliant HDMI cable that long on Monoprice.

The longest 1.3 currently on their website is 35 ft and is out of stock. I need a pair of these for my equipment relocation project.
