DirecTv HD sound issues

Does anyone else have a problem occasionally with the sound on DirecTv HD feeds where it cuts out or makes like an electronic "snow" sound? I thought it was my DVR receiver, since I never noticed it on the other 2, but I switched it out today with the one from the bedroom (HD but no DVR), and it still does it.

I did notice the DVR receiver (in the bedroom now), did the same thing, Guess since the bedroom TV is turned down on low volume at night, just never noticed it. It is not the audio receiver either in the living room, since it is connected via HDMI in the bedroom and sound is out of the TV speakers.

Is this something DirecTv can fix, or does anyone else have this problem?

I sent them an email, didn't feel like waiting on hold forever to talk to a Tech and unplug it for 60 seconds, now go into setup, blah, blah, blah.

They've done studies you know.... 60% of the time, it works every time

CBS seems to be the worste, but HGTV does it, ESPN, NFL Network, seems to be spread out all over the range. I'll see if DirecTv says anything, this sucks when you are trying to watch a show and the surround sound either goes out, or makes that bzzzssst noise.

Mine is worse during football games but also cuts out on Heroes sometimes. Still better than Charter that wouldn't record Heroes anyways and anything on the DVR cutout.

I have the digital audio connection to my audio receiver, and hdmi direct to the TV on the other one, and they both do it. Fricken drives me crazy, especially on football games.

Well, according to DirecTv's website and the Tech. email response I got, this is part of the "nature of the digital beast". Seems like they say it is normal.

Wonder if Dish or FIOS users have the same problem with sound?

I have the HD DVR's as well, only NBC for me, not all the time just occasional, so to me it's no big deal. Especially with the picture I'm getting, I'll live with that sound static...'H'
