shallow subs

whats the best shallow sub? i have a 04 quad cab f250 and there is hardly any space behind the rear seat for a sub so im thinking about going the shallow sub route.

damn i just checked the price and its $549 for one of the jl's. i love jl but that is way to damned expensive.

i can get kicker cvt's for 75 a pop and they have pretty good reviews.

Ya, that's expensive. Check with EW on the board. He can probably beat that price.

It's not going to be anywhere near $75 though. Don't expect much output or SQ from a $75 shallow Kicker. Yuck! You asked for the "best", and that's far from it.

Well, you asked what the best was. I don't have first hand experience with any shallow subs, but JL makes a good product and their shallow subs certainly look the part and have great specs. There may be something better out there in the shallow sub market, but I'm not aware of it. There is some truth to the saying "you get what you pay for".

13TW5-3 is the best thin woofer on the market period. You should be able to get 3-4 10W1v2 JL Audio subs behind the seat.

i know i can but that involves removing the jack and tools and the molded carpet and insluation behind there. i was thinking thin because i want some bass to complement by d3 but i dont need anything that you can hear me blocks away. i installed a 12w3 in our mustang and that was still a little much for me. i was wanting to remove that fold out tray under the rear seat and see if i could get a box built for that area.

mabye u should think about putting a couple of 8s behind the seat. I just did one yesterday in a 05 and i put 2 infinity 8s and they sounded good no modification.
