Need a Verizon Fios cable box...

Where can I pick one of these up(besides Verizon)? I tried craigslist, but no luck.

Would prefer HD, but regular will work also.

How about this...

Will a Direct TV box work with Verizon Fios? I have an old HD box from Direct TV thats just sitting around. Can I hook this up to Verizon service?

no. VZ leases their boxes just for that reason. The only way to legally get another one would be to call them and lease another one for a monthly charge.

No, for same reason as stated above. It's a proprietary system driven off of the serial number on the back of the piece corresponding with the serial number in VZ's billing system.

Or a call to TiVo will suffice... and substantially improve your interface...

You can't use a satellite receiver with Verizon Fios or vice versa.

They use different software/firmware and they usually activate/register the box by it's MAC address, which they have a record of. You will have to use a receiver issued by Verizon.

you can use tivo boxes that take cable cards. Verizon has cable cards for $2 per month. If you get a dual tuner DVR Tivo though, it requires two cable cards. But the setup does work with tivo dvr's
