some rock solid pioneer 6.5 coaxials (they jam, seriously), an Eclipse CD8051 that I'll probably have until I die since I haven't owned a car worth putting it into for years. I think that's about all.

Some places (car toys) like to sell B stock units which are (profitable) repaired goods. Buying new or store demo product is one thing but I'm out if the product is repaired or some jackass tried to install it and returned it.

So you had a dimming problem, and added a cap (changed nothing else) and the dimming went away?

If I knew a cap would cure my dimming, I would get one.

no. the mustangs i bought with systems in already did it. the one that i bought and installed my own system with a cap didn't do it. either way, like them, and am going to use one even if it doesnt do shit.

Ah, okay. Ya, I'd bet it wasn't the cap that kept it from dimming. I've really only heard negative things about them. I run around 2,000 watts and I only get dimming at full tilt. If I back off the volume just a hair, my voltage remains steady (usually between 14.0-14.5v). This is with a stock alternator, red top battery, and "big three" upgrade. It was the same with the stock battery as well. I just upgraded the battery for peace of mind.
